DECOMECC – Driving Digital Integration and Visibility

Decomecc aimed to strengthen its position as a reliable, high-quality partner in metal processing by improving how information flows across its organization and with its customers. With a broad range of production activities — from decoiling and cutting-to-length to laser blanking and CNC milling — the company needed greater connectivity, transparency, and efficiency throughout its processes.

Their internally developed ERP system formed a solid backbone for operations but was not connected to external partners. Most internal workflows were managed through paper and Office-based tools, which, while effective, limited real-time visibility and made data sharing labor-intensive.

As Decomecc continued to grow and take on more customer-specific projects, the company sought ways to:

SCOPTIS – Digitizing the extended supply chain upto the machine instructions

To advance Decomecc’s digital ambitions, SCOPTIS designed and implemented a modern integration and visibility layer based on the Lobster Data Platform. The objective was to connect Decomecc’s home-built ERP with its customers, suppliers, and production systems — while fully preserving existing applications and proven shop-floor workflows.

The project followed a phased approach, aligned with the platform’s core capabilities:

• Phase 1: Data Integrations – Connect & Integrate
  Using the Connect & Integrate capabilities of the Lobster Data Platform, SCOPTIS established seamless system-to-system communication between Decomecc and its partners. This enabled rapid deployment of tailored customer and supplier interfaces, even for those without advanced EDI capabilities. Real-time data exchange across ERP and production systems created a solid foundation for collaboration and faster, more reliable project execution.

• Phase 2: Portals & Visibility – Orchestrate & Visualise
  Building on this foundation, SCOPTIS developed customer and production portals leveraging the platform’s Orchestrate & Visualise capabilities. These portals deliver real-time insight into order, production, and logistics data, combining workflow automation with user-friendly interfaces. On the shop floor, digital tools now replace paper-based processes, enabling operators and customers alike to access up-to-date, accurate information instantly.

Across both phases, integrations and orchestrations cover Decomecc’s entire end-to-end production chain. Connectivity extends beyond system-to-system communication to include direct integration with the PLCs controlling production machinery. In this fully connected setup, production orders are automatically translated into machine instructions, and during and after execution, measurement data and process feedback are returned to the central systems — ensuring complete visibility from order to finished product.

Together, these steps have created a connected, transparent, and data-driven environment that improves efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness — positioning Decomecc for continued growth in an increasingly digital supply chain.
